Online casino has become so big in the last ten years that it is now a sociological data. Whereas casino and gambling mattered only to the few people who were actually going to a land based casino, Internet and online casino sites have made gambling possible for almost everyone, from any country, social class, age or sex. We can therefore wonder what are now the consequences of this new habit on couples and family life.
But it is first important to classify gamblers, between occasional and addicted. There is no real problem for the one who has control over the money gambled and the time spent playing online casino games. What about those who play everyday ? Sociologists already blamed television...but at least the family can watch it together. Online casino is a real individual activity. The gambler usually stays alone in a room with his computer, and therefore has no more contact with the rest of the family...
And another social revolution doesn't help solve the problem…Women have also become addicted to gambling online. Many online casino sites are even dedicated to women gamblers…Can you imagine a family where each parent would stay in a room with a computer to gamble at online casino sites ? What about family life, communication and setting an example for children...? Of course this is a bit exaggerated, but who knows ? It is important to keep yourself from falling into addiction and to always keep in mind that you have a family. Online casino must stay what it is: entertainment !
