The two founders of a leading online casino e-wallet company are fighting the charges set against them. Stephen Lawrence and John Lefebvre are vowing to fight the US Department of Justice on the criminal charges set against them, which include allowing online casino members from the US and abroad to transfer money used for online gambling through their e-wallet services. Many online casinos have dropped this online gambling payment method because of the recent developments.
‘He’s going to be contesting everything we know about the charges right now,’ said Vincent Marella, Lefebvre’s attorney. The same goes for Lawrence and the charges placed against him. According to Marella, the US authorities are trying to send a message with the recent wave of arrests that have been taking place regarding online casino owners and operators. Some lawyers have questioned whether the US Justice Department can be successful in pursuing those online casino groups not based in America.
In a world of constantly changing rules, regulations and frontiers, the online casino industry never seems to have a moment’s peace. It is certainly never dull, especially with the recent passing of the UIGEA, or Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, which has banned online casino gaming in the US. What will happen to the future of this industry is still unclear. However, one thing is certain: online casino fans will continue to find ways to play their favorite online casinos games, with or without the US government’s permission. Related News:
